Lionel Sawyer & Collins is pleased to congratulate our attorneys who recently passed the 2008 Nevada State Bar.

In Las Vegas:  Mark Gardberg, who joins the firm’s Business Law Department, brings more than 11 years of practice experience to the firm. Prior to joining Lionel Sawyer & Collins, Gardberg was an associate in a Miami, Florida law firm where he represented clients in corporate and litigation matters including a variety of federal licensing, immigration law, and domestic law matters. He previously served as a Senior Legal Officer for the International Organization for Migration in Geneva, Switzerland, where he headed a unit that resolved 35,000 World War II-era property loss claims and distributed over $100 million to successful claimants. Gardberg was also previously an associate based in the Prague and New York City offices of an international law firm, where he also handled legal matters in Great Britain and a number of other European countries. Gardberg received his J.D. with honors from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley, and was a member of Order of the Coif. He holds a B.A., summa cum laude, from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Gardberg is admitted to the State Bars of Nevada, Florida, California and New York.


In Reno: Brian Schusterman joins the firm’s Business Law Department.  Prior to joining the firm, Schusterman was a litigation associate at a New York-based national law firm. He previously served as a summer law clerk for the Environment & Natural Resource Division, Environmental Defense Section, United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. Schusterman was formerly a program assistant and the legal assistant to the Director of Litigation at California Indian Legal Services, and also worked as a litigation paralegal for a global law firm based in New York. Schusterman holds a J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where he was Articles Editor for the UC Davis Law Review, and holds a B.A., cum laude, from Colby College in Waterville, Maine.  Schusterman is admitted to the State Bars of Nevada and New York.
